Utilization review accreditation commission

URAC, a national 3rd-party non-profit healthcare accreditation organization, recently launched a telehealth accreditation program. The organization currently provides accreditation in 24 different areas, and companies that have applied for and received accreditation range from healthcare startups to established giants like BlueCross and CVS Pharmacy. The full list of URAC-accredited companies can be found here. The organization announced in December of 2017 that telehealth company Avizia had become the first telehealth company to receive the newly established accreditation.

Mental telehealth company AbleTo announced Tuesday that they had joined their ranks, becoming the second telehealth company to receive URAC accreditation. AbleTo CEO Rob Rebak said that receiving the accreditation was part of the company’s long-term goals. AbleTo also stated that the process of applying for the accreditation helped the company evaluate their own practices using external criteria.
